Started in 2016 by childhood friends, HCR is the brainchild of DJs Zulu Doc, Sunrise Sam, and The Unit who play the very best of traditional blues, country, gospel and spirituals... they call this "gut bucket music" in reverence for the early pioneers of traditional American music. It's about the back of the bar in a Merigold, Mississippi juke joint on a Saturday, then spirituals from the Gospel Tent at Jazz Fest on Sunday. It's music for your guts. No bullshit.
